Beyond legacy radio frequency.
↓Saltenna is developing high-bandwidth communications underwater, under ice, through metal and dense infrastructure, and beyond — across government and commercial sectors.
Plasmonic waves travel along the boundaries other signals can't cross. If an environment defeats today's wireless, it's a candidate.
Saltenna is developing high-bandwidth, stealthy communications underwater — no line of sight required — and through and along ice sheets, connecting air and above-ice assets with those submerged beneath.
Saltenna has demonstrated significantly enhanced range in solid underground facilities, tunnels, and multi-level structures, and is working on robust links inside ships, submarines, and dense or collapsed infrastructure — with no cables run and no holes drilled.
Any long conductive surface can become the network. Saltenna is developing stealthy, resilient communications along linear infrastructure — runways, flightlines, roads — and around metal airframes themselves, with signals riding the surface instead of broadcasting into contested spectrum.
Saltenna has demonstrated wireless communications along and through pressurized tanks and pipes, and is working on links for pipelines above ground, buried, or underwater — including lines filled with hazardous liquids — without drilling holes or running wires.
Where there are no towers and no ionosphere, the physics still holds. Saltenna is working on carrying communications within and through dense jungle canopy, and simulations show the technology could work on the lunar surface and other planets.
Current radios, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, optical, audio, and other systems radiate through free space and fail at dense obstacles. Plasmonic waves instead travel along surfaces — the boundaries between water, metal, soil, and air — so no line of sight is needed, and the energy stays stealthy on the surface instead of broadcasting into contested spectrum.
